Celebrating Excellence in SJS Education

Our talented Senior, Dana Lewy ('25), wrote a heartfelt poem dedicated to Puerto Rican playwright and teacher Victoria Espinosa during Ms. Johanna Estrella's Spanish class when she was in 8th grade at SJS.

Her poem was featured in ¡Hasta la Victoria, Victoria!, a book honoring Espinosa that was presented at Campechada 2024—the annual cultural event, which this year was also dedicated to Victoria Espinosa. Dana had the honor of reciting her work in front of an audience and, alongside esteemed figures like writer Yolanda Arroyo-Pizarro and artist Xavier Valcárcel, and our teacher, Ms. Estrella, among other participants who collaborated in the creation of the book.

Dana's accomplishment highlights the exceptional learning experiences offered at our school.

Congratulations, Dana! We are
incredibly proud.
